Muktinath - one of the Hindu holy shrine - a soul revival
The famous Stupa of Muktinath lies in the district of Mustang and is situated 18 kilometers north east of Jomsom at an altitude of about 3749 meters. The temple is situated on a high mountain range and is accessible during fair weather. The visitors get lodging facilities at Dharmasala and Maharani Pouwa

Muktinath is a sacred and a pilgrimage site for both Hindu and Buddhists. The local name of Muktinath is Chuming Gyatsa, which means hundred springs. The traditional caretakers of this monastery are Tibetan Buddhist nuns. You will see Tibetan traders as well as Sadhus from the far south of India paying homage to Buddha at this place. The place is great for meditation therefore most of the hermits remain here for years. The shrine is situated in a grove of trees and among others it includes a Buddhist monastery and the Jwala Mai temple, which contain a spring, and an eternal flame fed by natural gas underground. It is the earth-water-fire combination that accounts for Muktinath's great religious significance. Set into the walls around is 108 waterspouts from which pour holy water. For the Buddhists, Muktinath is a place of Dakinis, goddess known as sky dancers and Lord Padmasambhava. Its importance in Buddhism increases because of the fact that Chuming Gyatsa is one of the 24 Tantrik places.

Buddhists believe that all miseries and sorrows are relieved once you visit this temple. There are two ways to get to Muktinath from Kathmandu. You may either take a direct flight from Kathmandu via Pokhara to Jomsom and hike for 6-8 hous via Kagbeni or trek all the way from Pokhara, which takes 7-8 days

(I) Itinerary : Muktinath Darshan by Helicopter - 3 Nights 4 Days
Day 01: Arrival in Pokhara. Transfer to hotel.
Day 02: Morning fly to Muktinath by Helicopter. After Holy bath and puja back to Pokhara free time for rest.
Day 03: After breakfast go for Pokhara city sight seeing place to visit Bindhabasini Temple, Seti River gorge, Gorkha Museum, Devi's waterfall, Mahadev Cave and visit the Barahi Temple by boat ride in Fewa Lake, Evening leisure and overnight.
Day 04: Departure to Kathmandu or onward destination.

Muktinath: Mukti (Salvation) holds grate significance for all spiritual people in the south Asian sub continent. Muktinath (the provider of salvation) has been one such holy site, where thousands of devotees flock for attaining the much sought after moksha.

The famous temple of Lord Muktinath lies in the district of Mustang and is situated about 18 kms northeast of Jomsom in the north central part of Nepal, at an altitude of about 3750 meters. Named after highly referred Muktinath shrine the valley is one of religious place in Nepal for both Hindus and Buddhist. Hindus call it Muktichhetra (Place of salvation). Many Shaligrams found here are considered by Hindu as incarnation of lord Vishnu and worship them. Similarly Buddhist calls this valley the Chumig Gyatsa (Place of 108 waterspouts).

There are many ways to reach Muktinath. Either take a flight from Pokhara to Jomsom or hike for 7-8 hours from Jomsom or trek all the way from Pokhara through Kali-Gandaki valley, which takes 7/8 days. Helicopter services are also available from Pokhara & Kathmandu. There has a trekking route one of famous treks name of Muktinath. The sight of the bewildering Annapurana and Dhaulagiri ranges will enchant you as you approach towards Pokhara Valley by air or surface. The next morning when you discover the clear sky and views of mountain, you then discover you are on your special journey to the Muktinath. Here we present following pilgrimage tour to Muktinath.



(II) Itinerary : Muktinath Darshan by Helicopter - 4 Nights 5 Days :
Day 01 Drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu 200 k.m. west by bus. And in the afternoon half day sight seeing in Pokhara city.
Day 02 Early morning take a 20 minutes flight to Jomsom and trek for two hours to Kagbeni and stay overnight there for acclimatize.
Afternoon we can walk around the small Kagbeni village which is medieval - looking village with Tibetan influenced as closed as you can get to Lomangthang, the capital of the legendary Kingdom of Mustang further to the north.
Day 03 Trekking to the Muktinath all the way is up hill. Takes about 6 hours. Lunch break on the way and overnight in Muktinath and do puja and take holy bath.
Day 04 Early morning after breakfast start trek back to Jomsom and overnight there..
Day 05 Early morning fly back to Pokhara and take a connection flight back to Kathmandu.

All the programs to Muktinath & Damodar Kunda are subject to operate with the service of flying capabilities of aircrafts, which sometime can be stopped or cancelled by the extreme weather condition. A Yatra to Muktinath by Helicopter:
As trek is time taking thus trek would not possible for our entire guest for one or another reason. Hence, we are pleased to introduce a same day Darshan Muktinath by helicopter .

Climate
Muktinath and its high valley are located in the Mustang Bhote region. The climate and landscape here are similar to those of the Tibetan Plateau since it is situated in the rain shadow of the Greater Himalayas. The changes in climate from warm to cold take you to the sacred shrine of Muktinath in Mustang district. Flowing through the region from north to south and forming deep gorges is the Kali Gandaki river. The temperature in summer (March to August) hover between Maximum of 16 to 18 degree Celsius and Minimum 6 to 8 Degree Celsius. In the beginning of winter (September to November) the temperature fluctuates between 14 to 16 degree Celsius and 0 to 4 degree Celsius. In the winter (December to February) the maximum temperature will be 4 to 6 degree Celsius and minimum 0 to -8 degree Celsius.

Season:
The most suitable time to visit Muktinath from March to May & October. In November & February it can be cold, but you can travel. December and January are for the diehard & snowfall in the all of area 4 to 10 ft. June to September is raining season. As the weather conditions would not be safe enough to travel in o ther months.

Clothing:
We suggest you to take normal warm clothes. Light warm jacket, woolen sweater, warm T-Shirts, comfortable shoes, trousers and cotton pants are enough for this trip. We recommended you to bring down jacket for the winter.

Accommodation:
There is enough Hotels and lodges near by Muktinath in Jharkot and Ranipauwa. The Hotels and lodges are fine there. Some Hotels have solar heated hot showers and provide rooms with attached bath. Also local restaurant are available there. They provide good food. For Hindu pilgrims there are also free Dharamsalas .

Others Facilities:
STD /ISD telephone services are available in Ranipauwa and Jharkot. Health post and Post office in Jharkot. Police station, ACAP tourist information center and Safe drinking water station at Ranipauwa. There are available Electricity facilities also.

Rule & Regulation
Muktinath lies in the Annapurna conservation area where entry fee required. Entry fee can be obtained from Kathmandu and Pokhara. The ACAP entry fee is Rs. 200.00 Per person for Indians and others SAARC nationals and Rs. 2000.00 per person to others foreign nationals at the above mentioned designated place. An equal extra fee will levied if permits are issued from field check post. The Permit is non refundable, non-transferable and is valid for single entry. Children below 10 yrs. need not entry fee

 

III - Pashupati and Muktinath yatra Nepal:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, meet our representative at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to Hotel, Overnight at Hotel

Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara.
Wake up around 6:30 AM, have breakfast around 7:00 AM get ready and drive to Pokhara (200 KM) around 7:30 AM. It is 6 hour driving from Kathmandu to Pokhara. Reach Pokhara around 1:30 PM have lunch and rest of the day is free, Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03: Fly from Pokhara to Jomsom, drive to Muktinath by Local jeep available in that area, Muktinath darshan and back to Jomson. Overnight at Guest House.
Early morning fly from pokhara to jomsom (16 minutes) . 30 minutes walk (1 km) from Jomsom Airport to Jeep stand and drive to Muktinath. (1 hours 30 minutes drive) for private reserved jeep, while 2 hours drive for Local jeep to the Muktinath jeep stand. (19 KM) Around 25 minutes walk to the main Gate of Muktinath and 5 minutes up to temple. (Motorbike ride is available from the Jeep stand which will take 7 to 8 minutes. 1 KM around

Day 04: Fly back from Jomsom to pokhara and drive to Kathmandu, Overnight at Hotel.

Day 05: Trip end and departure.

(IV) Itinerary : Muktinath Darshan by Bus and Jeep - 8 Nights 9 Days :
 

Day 01 Arrival to Kathmandu o/n Hotel
Day 02 Kathmandu sighte seeing
Day 03 Kathmandu to Beni by land, By Bus
Day 04 Beni to Jomsom by land by Jeep 8 pax in one Jeep * Condition
Day 05 Jomsom – Muktinath - Jomsom By Jeep
Day 06 Jomsom to Beni and to Pokhara.
Day 07 Pokhara Sightseeing and rest in Pokhara
Day 08 Drive or fly to Kathmandu
Day 09 Transfer to Air Port for onword journey.


Hindu Pilgrimage Tour - Pashupati, Manakamana, Bendabasani, Muktinath

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu and then transfer to the Hotel.

Day 02: Kathmandu- Gorkha.
Drive to Kurintar in the morning from Kathmandu and then use Cable Car the first and only one in Nepal to the Manakamana temple. Perform Puja and tour around the temple. Come down to the road by Cable car again and then drive to Gorkha Hotel.

Day 03: Gorlhar –Pokhara.
Visit the Gorkha Palace and the most powerful Goddess Temple Kalika of the shaha dynasty. Walk down to the Bazzar and then drive to Pokhara. After noon tour of Fewa Lake (tal Barahi Temple) and lakeside in the evening. O/ N stay in the Hotel in Pokhara.

Day 04: Pokhara – Jomsom - Kagbeni.
Take the breathtaking flight to Jomsom passing all the Annapurna Ranges. Start trekking towards the great town Kagbeni following the Kaligandaki River. Visit the 500 years old monastery in the town. You can perform the Shradda Puja in the confluence of the river Kaligandaki and Muktinath.

Day 05: Kagbeni – Muktinath.
After Breakfast, Trek to Muktinath starting gentle up hill climbing or you can ride horse. Visit Muktinath temple for the Puja in the evening and return to hotel. Then relax watching over looking view of Mustang valley and over night hotel.

Day 06: Muktinath – Jomsom.
Trek to Jomsom leaving the great memory of Muktinath temple behind. Arrive Jomsom and Tour of town in the evening if you have time left. Here is Eco Museum and Jomsom Mountain Resort the Super Deluxe Hotel in the mountain.

Day 07: Jomsom – Pokhara.
Early in the morning fly back to Pokhara and then fly back to Kathmandu or drive by the Local Van / Mini Buses and over night hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 08: In Kathmandu.
Tour of Kathmandu Pilgrimage sites such as Pashupatinath Temple ( Shiva Temple) / Budhanilkantha ( Sleeping Vishnu) and other Vishnu / Shiva / Parvati shrines and overnight in the Hotel.

Day 09: Final departure in your own destination
